Delete your account

Open Medly and go to Settings → Delete account, or go straight to app.medly.nz/settings/delete. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.

Email privacy@medly.nz from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm once it is done. If you no longer have access to that address, write from any address and tell us enough to identify the account — we may ask you something only the account holder would know, because deleting the wrong person's child health record is not a mistake we can undo.

• Your account and sign-in.
• Every child record you created — appointments, medications, immunisations and notes.
• Every document you uploaded, including the stored files themselves, not just the entries pointing at them.
• Your reminders and notification settings.
• Access you had given to anyone else for those children. They are emailed to say it has ended.

If someone else invited you to see their child, that record belongs to them. Deleting your account removes your access to it; it does not delete their child.

Records we are required to keep for legal or accounting reasons are retained for as long as the law requires and no longer. These do not include your children's health information.

Deleting from inside the app is immediate. An emailed request is actioned within 30 days, and normally within a few working days. Backups are overwritten on their own cycle, so a copy may persist in an encrypted backup for a short period after deletion — it is not restored to the live service and is not used for anything.

You do not have to delete your account to stop hearing from us. Feature updates can be switched off under Profile and consents in the app, or by using the unsubscribe link in any of those emails. Reminders about your child's care are separate and are controlled in the app.
